Excellent. Bold fruit and high acidity and solid tannins = Well balanced. Has herbal and leathery layers to it. 13.5% al. For $25, a good value. Buy again. — 2 months ago
Cinnamon and cloves on bouquet and palate combined those with red fruit though may get a little plum mid palate. Smooth to course tannins that add to the long lasting mouthfeel. Like a lot. 1 more bottle. Drink in next 5 — a year ago
Nov 19, 2020. Celebrating some Italian holiday in August — Feast Italian wine sale. Whoa. Big Aglianico! I don’t get much fruit in this 2009 vintage, mostly leather, earth, tar and LOTS of pepper. Interesting. Love it. — 3 years ago
A young Aglianico, crunchy, joyful with dark cherry but also some tidy rock, a bit of blood & iron. A whiff of dried herbs.
Nice, juicy tannins - a proper bit yet so finely polished. Bright acidity worth a good mouthfeel.
Not decanted and so drinkable. — 3 months ago
This is a full-bodied & concentrated 100% Aglianico from Campania, Italy. The vineyards are understood to be 200-years old in Campi Taurasini, hence the name of the wine ‘Bicento’ (twice hundred). This makes them the oldest in Europe. The wine is robust, intense, pitch dark with firm, dusty tannins. The finish is very good, with dark berry, black plum, licorice, & spice flavours — 2 years ago
