Glengyle

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch #3

This is one of Kilkerran’s heavily peated batches, I think they are up to batch 9. If the rest of them taste this good then one should grab whatever you can get. Interesting the nose on this one keeps changing for me and all in a good way. Despite being called heavy peat, it’s mild to me. Really delightful aroma I got oats and vanilla to start and now salted caramel seems to dominate. The flavor is great, sure there is some heat but tamed especially given the level. More salted caramel, a full, well rounded finish that goes on and on. No burn but it hits the tongue hard. Distillery - Glengyle

Cadenhead's

Campbeltown Blended Scotch Whisky

Remembrance of my trip to Edinburgh. Cadenhead’s is a great place to taste all types of whisky. I bottled this and others myself from casks. Taste was sweet with hard candy and some apple notes. Got to go back. — 3 years ago

Campbeltown

Loch NAS

Campbeltown Loch NAS (no age statement) light on the nose, no peat. Has a really nice finish that lasts. Strong on the tip of the tongue but full mouth filling. Rich in flavor and not shy. — 14 days ago

Wowzers. Citrus, peat, oak, nutmeg, vanilla, pepper, oloroso sherry, bramble, Black Fruit, honey, etc etc. there’s so much going on in there it’s expansive and a bit transcendent! Outstanding — 4 years ago

This has a decent amount of peat on it. Rich with some punch. I’m liking this a lot but it’s almost an after dinner drink as opposed to before. 7yr Bourbon Barrel, 4yr fresh Tawny Port Barrels 57.5% — a month ago

21 Years Campbeltown Single Malt Scotch Whisky

2019 edition, Campbeltown used whisky drawn from both Port casks and rum casks - 45% came from Port casks while the remaining 55% was drawn from rum casks. Distillery's note: "Nose: A delightful fruitiness bursts through; watermelon, strawberry laces, brambles and blueberries followed by crushed vanilla pods and glazed cherries. Taste: Chocolate covered oranges and Caramel shortcake! Deliciously full bodied, with tropical fruit squash, gingerbread and dried mango. Finish: A captivating Campbeltown Malt; sea salt, oily and fruity. Lemon sherbet, whipped cream, apple peel and salted pretzels complete this beautiful dram!" — 4 years ago
