Takes a while to open, better on the second day. Good balance in this 2011 Brunello, fruity but not over ripe, with savoury and mineral elements present. Good value. — 8 years ago
Finally tracked down a Walter de Batte wine at Ristorante Miky. Lovely, nutty nose but rather straightforward on the palate. — 8 years ago
What an excellent white Rioja - complex, balanced and great acidity. Great vintage for this bottling and an incredible value (45€ at Akelare restaurant). — 8 years ago
Needed some time to open. Leafy herbs, basil, even fennel on the nose. Citrusy and juicy on the palate with a strong mineral backbone. Rather rich and mouth filling in texture. Tasty, interesting and mineral driven wine. — 8 years ago
One of the best Gattinaras I've tasted. Great vintage for Osso San Grato. Showing lovely red fruit, brown spice, round tannins. Drinking beautifully but I'm sure it'll age well. — 8 years ago
Drinking well now, classic, elegant and a touch of rustic. So typical, so drinkable and so lovely. — 8 years ago
Starting to drink very well, with as always an almost delicate, beautifully mid weight expression of Sangiovese. Transparent, elegant, with pure red cherries and prominent mineral and underbrush notes. Drink now or soon, though I'm curious how it will evolve as this gains a bit of weight with air. — 8 years ago
A lighter and leaner vintage of this bottling. Composed and balanced throughout, though less complexity and depth compared to the better vintages. Drink now. — 8 years ago
I need to drink more Mencia, especially when it's absolutely gorgeous like this. If I see any Guimaro on the wine list, I'm getting it! — 8 years ago

Traditional style of dusty, earthiness. Young and rather closed. Opened slightly after a few hours. Great potential and purity of fruit. Some way to go. — 8 years ago
