We love wine! That is probably the first thing you should know about us. Our blog provides a 'his and her' perspective on food, wine, and restaurants. Check out...
Chris and I had some differences of opinion on this wine. While we both agreed it was the best bottle we had from our Naked Wines case, Chris was not impressed. He had difficulty distinguishing flavors and felt the wine was lacking complexity. I felt the wine tasted heavily of cherry, blackberry, and pomegranate. I also got plum and currant. We really enjoyed this Cab and agreed with the 92pt wine spectator rating. This wine has a beautiful color and light bouquet. It tastes of plum, blackberry and raspberry with finishing notes of coffee. It is complex and well-balanced. Read our full review here: http://goo.gl/qndy3Q — 10 years ago
We love Duckwalk Vineyards and we have tasted many of their wines, but this one has been our least favorite. Windmill White, although labeling itself as a "off-dry white", is very sweet. We both agreed this wine has a syrupy sugary sweet thickness to it. Notes of kiwi and honeysuckle give rise to a buttery creamy flavor. Neither of us particularly want to drink this wine again. Sorry Duckwalk, we still <3 you! Read our full review here: http://wp.me/p5EPbt-6z — 10 years ago
Liquid alcoholic chocolate. This wine is thick, textured, bold, and tastes more of chocolate than of wine. In addition to the chocolate notes, notes of chocolate, and more chocolate notes, there is a hint of cherry buried in there. This would be a great wine for a girls night or bachelorette party. We loved the label art and the story behind this wine. This smooth dry Malbec tastes of dark fleshy fruits such as blackberry, plum, and black cherry with spicy and oaky notes and a tartness on the backend. We thought this 90pt wine was well worth the price. Check out our full review here: http://goo.gl/T0EyJ3 — 10 years ago
This was the first Shiraz we reviewed and we will definitely be sampling Shiraz more often as we really enjoyed this bottle. This wine opens with notes of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry, with notes of black pepper on the backend. Chris felt the finish wasn't very long, but I thought there was a nice long finish. This wine is very dry. The tannins are very heavy. Read our full review here: http://wp.me/p5EPbt-6m — 10 years ago
We enjoyed this wine, but were not super impressed. Chris caught notes of apple that he felt were quickly overpowered by pepper, blackberry, and currant. I tasted tart apples with plum and oak on the back end. The tannins are very mellow, which was nice. See our full review here: http://goo.gl/Mc2nvs — 10 years ago
We really liked this light bodied Pinot Noir. It is heavy with flavors of ripe red fruit such as red delicious apple, raspberry, and strawberry. Tannins on the backend are light. Great transition wine from winter to spring. Read our full review here: http://goo.gl/wfDxLF — 10 years ago
We curled up on the couch on a chilly fall evening with a slice from our favorite local pizza joint and a bottle of this Pinot Noir. 24 Knots has a beautiful bouquet and a great rich palate of fig, plum, and cherry with oak and cocoa notes on the back end. Two Forks and a Corkscrew
We both thoroughly enjoyed this Rioja. Make sure to give this wine time to open. This is a medium-heavy bodied wine that is smooth with a bit of texture. Notes of cherry, blackberry, and plum are followed by earthy herbs, tobacco, and licorice. The finish is not very long, but overall a great wine.
