Labeled "Umbria White Wine," I thought there was a defect when I smelled the cork and poured orange into my glass. Hopeful Paolo Bea was just stirring things up, I was happy to taste an earthy, tense but not anxious, orange wine with a long earthy finish. Perfectly balanced, I would have paired this better had I read the detailed description (in italiano) first. — 7 years ago

Red fruit in the nose. Clear ruby red color. Strawberry and cherry with a touch of cinnamon. Long finish with surprisingly strong tannins. 2015 — 7 years ago

Lovely Sangiovese cherry flavored augmented by earthy mineralogy and nice acidity. Wood gave this wine added structure but left everything as it should. — 8 years ago

Ruby red and wonderful clarity. Dried fruit forward and the requisite amount of spice in the nose, it drank just as well--almost too well. Tannins were rounded and the finish was fairly long, but I somehow felt this wine was just a bit too perfect and lacked authenticity. The 2009 had been one of my favorites. — 8 years ago
