Ruby red and wonderful clarity. Dried fruit forward and the requisite amount of spice in the nose, it drank just as well--almost too well. Tannins were rounded and the finish was fairly long, but I somehow felt this wine was just a bit too perfect and lacked authenticity. The 2009 had been one of my favorites.
