A deep garnet and a deep cherry liqueur on the nose. Blackberry and cassis, anise and cardamom, dried roses on the palate, with tannins that hug onto the mid palate for a lingering contemplation. True beauty. — 9 years ago

2010. Honest to the price point if not better. Fantastic with delicata squash, wild mushroom and kale pasta. I would certainly buy again. Smokey and spicy nose with bits of black licorice, slightly stewed raspberry on the palate with lingering hints of tobacco smoke. Very pleasing tannic structure. — 9 years ago
Oak, vanilla, licorice vines, and blackberry reduction on the nose. On the palate, I got some strawberry and hedgerow fruit--a medium body and silky texture. The finish has a bit of smoke and the red licorice vines linger. Pretty good acidity. I would buy a good price on this, but I don't think it would be my choice Oregon Pinot during a dinner out. — 9 years ago
Mushroom and dried fruit on the nose, beautiful, easy drinking with a wandering complexity from hedgerow to forest floor to red meat. Lengthy, finishing with a hint of underripe strawberries. — 9 years ago
I love the Santa Lucia highlands style. This one has well integrated oak with great acidity. The nose is what a ripe blueberry licorice candy would smell like. Little soy sauce notes. Newly cut wood core smells as well. The candy stays, but comes with hints of fresh ground coffee and herbal notes that linger on the finish. — 9 years ago
First, I had a lot of anise on the nose. The coating had some stickiness on the back tongue but at the same time deeply satiny. Along with the previous tasters, I enjoyed this wine more on the second day. The anise settled into more of a classic vegetal nose. Some oily petrol and nasturtium with bits of juniper lingered on the palate. The ripe blue and black fruit presence was so balanced with the tannin that it felt savory more than sweet. When the bottle finished, it was like closing a book and wishing the story would keep going on into the next day. — 9 years ago

My first Aglianico and it's love. My nose was full of new leather and palate of reduced, fresh-crushed blackberries. Quite the spine, lifting up the dark chocolates. I would bump it up to 9.9, but like I mentioned, this was my first experience. But mmmmM! Oh and I pan fried some baked pumpkin with this. Good GOD. The two together, made my night. — 9 years ago
