Wow. Dark, rich, complex. This wine looked like Petite Sirah when I poured it, dark, inky, rich. While still very young this wine was beautifully complex and exceptionally expressive of the terroir. Black fruit and briar with side notes of leather and a hint of cedar. Big, and young but still a pleasure to drink . Very well made and built to last. My guess after this tasting is that it would be at its peak between 2026-2030. — 8 years ago
1989 vintage that I found in my basement. I assumed this wine would be shot. I was wrong. There was a little oxidation on the nose when first opened. The color was beautiful, light gold and clear. This wine showed beautiful rich melon flavored perfectly balanced with orange citrus. Remarkably complex with the layers peeling back as it swirled in your mouth like an intricately woven novel that you can't put down. I am truly amazed at the youthfulness and complexity of this beautiful wine. * this wine developed markedly over the course of 2 hours... — 8 years ago

In spite of the fact the very moldy cork fell in the bottle at first gentle touch we tasted anyway. I am very glad we did. The wine seemed a bit like orw upon first sniff but given a little time opened into a beautifully complex Burgundy. Cassis , black cherry, smoke and leather with that perfect acidity that you expect. All in all a truly delectable wine that showed its maturity in a very positive way. — 8 years ago
