Has a newly bottled taste. The flavors have not fully developed and needs to mature. Bitterness is lacking from this Chianti which is proof that it is not ready to drink. Maybe in a couple of years it is worth trying again. — 12 years ago

Wow! This is great wine overall. It is mild and at first sip there is a small bite but it does not send your taste buds into overdrive. It is settle with a VERY light hint of smokiness. Pairs well with meat, cheese (especially goat cheese), and even chocolate!!! The only downside is that I think it should sit and age for a little longer to mellow out the little dryness it has. — 12 years ago

The taste of the French Oak barrels are strong initially. The wine mellows out and does not leave an after taste. A little more on the bitter side. The low rating is for the initial bite of the oak.
