This is at the top of the spicy rland acifity range of how I like my shirazes. Smooth at the start and a little thin, then the acidity and spice, then the dryness. The different stages come pretty quickly. Weak legs. Color is a dark, opaque crimson red. Plum taste is most identifiable. Hints of blackberry and cherry. — 9 years ago

Tastes like cherries, sweet. Smooth finish. Like it for a fall wine, maybe for Halloween. — 9 years ago

The initial sip hits you a bit, a tad strong. Middle taste is smooth, jammy, blackberry and hint of black cherry. Long, spiced finish. This wine is a blend, I think it benefits from the Grenache and Mourvedre additions. A previous commenter on this site said paired well with beef dish, I could see that. I think Ill give it a try. — 9 years ago

Bought this 2008 in 2010. Supposed to cellar for 5-7 years. We opened this in 2013 or 2014 when we found it in the back of our wine cabinet (not climate controlled), and it tasted a little vinegary. Love the softness and complexity that the clay soil in this valley gives the wine. — 9 years ago

A good sipping white wine, especially for the price. Crisp with citrus and honeydew melon notes. Hogher level of acidity. — 9 years ago

Ripe cherry and plum. Dark and brooding. Pairing suggestion is lasagne or other tonato-based dishes, including Mexican food. Bold, smooth, spiced (nutmeg/cloves?), not tannic. Would make a great dinner party wine, no flaws or objectionable poibts, all of my friends with different palates gave this a minimum of 3/5.

2013 was a bad year for the vineyard, lost a lot of grapes to frost, so they bought grapes from Washington state. Afterwards, they bought fields there and produce under the "8 Chains North West" label.
