Vigna Carzello Nebbiolo D'Alba 2009. Won a Concorso Award in 2012. Not exactly sure why, unless it was the best Nebbiolo D'Alba in its price range that year. I found it thin and tangy, with no depth, and no discernible fruits. I suppose I shouldn't compare it to the sublime Sangiovese Chianti Classico Riservas. — 10 years ago

Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino 2010. Not as nuanced as some others, but a rich red that pairs well with steak drizzled with aged balsamic vinegar. Yum. — 10 years ago

Masi Masianco 2012. Pinot Grigio and Verduzzo blend. A good Italian white. Perhaps a tad sweeter than a Soave, but, as usual, all non-dessert or sparkling whites taste the same to me. — 10 years ago
