Spectator gave it a 91 so I picked it up. Very unspectacular. Bottom line “it’s wine” as a friend once described mediocre wine. Nothing memorable but opened up slightly after an hour.
It one of a hundred wines I would drink again but not buy again. — a day ago
Really quite enjoyable (2015 Charles wetmore) medium bodied but lots of character. Drinks well beyond its sticker price. Hard to find any fault and opens up nicely after an hour. — a year ago
It’s starts out quite fruity but unique and very enjoyable. As it continues to breath it gets more complex and bolder. It drinks several times it’s price. I think spectator gave it a 93 - I’ll go so far to give it a rare 94. Exceptional value at under $30 and everything a good wine should be. — a month ago
A heavy bottle always makes a good 1st impression. It’s as good as it gets for $15. A lot to like here. — 2 years ago
You would not initially think this was a South African wine as it lacks the typical unique earthiness you would usually detect. Instead this has a huge cherry bouquet. It’s overwhelming initially but mellows after breathing for an hour and becomes a very respectable effort. Dark and syrupy and unique in its own right. — 2 years ago
I had the 2012 last night with a tasty Italian meal with friends. I don’t say this lightly... it’s Perhaps the finest wine I have ever had the pleasure of indulging. Wonderfully complex, huge fruit bouquet, perfect amount of oak, big but refined. A real treat and memorable bottle. — a year ago
Lacks the complexity and fruit of a better zin. I’d drink again but not buy again. It’s an 86.5 — 2 years ago
