Leaves a memorable impression (along with the bottle art) - massively woodsy, spicy, bell pepper, cigar box. Pours a dark and stain-worthy purple. Mouthfeel is moderately tannic, viscous, and ripe with black cherry and cassis. Only critiques: 1) I can detect the high ABV (14.5) on the nose and 2) Does not improve with air. Enjoy and gulp with friends immediately once opened. — 10 years ago
Zippy. Prime example of the NZ SB style. Aromas of fresh cut grass and gravel. Taste is a big bite of citrus. Finishes crisp and acidic. — 10 years ago
Got this from a restaurant for free. Just awful. Hot alcohol dominates nose. Tastes like strawberry syrup, and that's being polite. No complexity to speak of. Finish is a fuzzy vanilla film on your tongue that screams "Help!! This is better off down the drain!" — 10 years ago
Best SB I've had to date. Wow. Honeysuckle, jasmine, and a little minerality on the nose. Peach, melon, tangerine, and a mouthwatering finish of grapefruit that is slightly sweet, not too dry. Shellfish and goat cheese will love this. Absolutely stunning and well balanced! — 10 years ago
Nose bursts with peach and grapefruit. Mouthfeel is crisp and has balanced flavors of citrus and melon. Finishes quite dry and lingers a bit with a hint of vanilla and honey. Tastes best when not too chilled. Nice Napa SB offering. A little zesty for my taste, but definitely enjoyable. The bottle art is amazing, too! — 10 years ago
Gooseberry, passion fruit, grass, lime. Crisp acidity. NZ SB all the way. — 10 years ago
This is just delicious; do not deny yourself the pleasure of a tasty rosé. Lime zest and wet gravel on the nose. Fruity mouthfeel of fresh strawberries and raspberries, yet a dry and acidic finish. Perfect patio quaffer. Yummy. — 10 years ago
Gorgeous California Chardonnay. Oak leaps out of the glass with hints of peach and apricot. Mouthfeel is smooth and clean - pear and butter. Finishes with just the right amount of acidity and a palate that lingers reminiscent of lemon custard. Let it breathe and warm up, too (freezing cold Chard is such a travesty). The ABV is high on this one, but you wouldn't know it. Definitely a treat!! — 10 years ago

Delish. Oaky with firm tannins; definitely not as fruit forward. Small amounts of other varietals give it a well rounded feel. Finishes dry. — 9 years ago
