Great bottle that opened with blackberry and kirsch. A thick, concentrated Hermitage, with lots of backbone. Could last 100 years. — 8 years ago

A very pleasant surprise. Still very primary, but no evidence of any of the oxidative tendencies that often plague Jura wine. Very round on the palate. Look forward to seeing how this develops. — 8 years ago

Not quite ready yet, but a nice Epenots nose developing, and tart cherry on the palate. Looking forward to tracking the development of this wine. — 8 years ago

Still a lot of life in this bottle, with iron and black fruit. Bravo! — 8 years ago

Lovely nose with smoke, light diesel notes; on palate, dry with balanced acidity, and a moderate finish. An excellent food wine, in the best sense. — 8 years ago

Surprisingly robust, given the age and the vigneron. Opened with floral notes, some slight burnt sugar, but little noticeable oak. Somewhat hot. The palate was more integrated, until you reached the finished, where the wine started to show some bitterness — 8 years ago

Great raw materials, but still too young. On the nose, some graphite, black fruit, earth, but not at all floral. The palate shows great fruit, but also fine, but noticeable tannins. A long finish, and great promise. — 8 years ago

This wine is owed an apology. The wine staff did not give this wine nearly enough air. And so, I let mine sit in the glass for an extra hour, and presto! Romanee St. Vibrant the way it should be: sexy, spicy nose...elegant, balanced, almost zen palate, with near perfect balance. A wonderful wine. — 8 years ago
