Bacon fat, black plum. Ripe, smooth, bold. low acid, chalky tannin finish. Kind of simple, needing an extravagant spicy dish to match. Maybe Indian food. — 8 hours ago
Lavender, wild herbs, high toned berries & dark fruits, nutmeg on the nose. Big, young powerful mid palate that needs time. Tannins still young & a little chalky (Merlot) not quite integrated yet. Still a baby. Cool late year, concentrated, prob very small clusters & berries. 24% Merlot, 5% PV, 1% CF blended. 12.4% alcohol :) — a year ago
My last bottle- what a great value. Beautiful aromas ranging from floral to bacon, cardamom, cinnamon spice, red licorice, & vanilla extract. The balance is elegant & not over done.....even with 14% alcohol. Fruit at this point has become sweet plum like, with dry tannin that asks/begs for food. — 2 months ago
On one side well made with pretty aromatics, integrated tannin & balance. On the other hand, now 8yrs old with diminished fruit, the EtOH gets in the way & disrupts the point of Rosso- pretty bright fruit. Would have liked to drink this a few years ago. 14.5% - balance with alc was better on day 2. — 2 months ago
