A $10 bottle at Trader Joe’s, this holds up to some nicer Spanish wines after breathing just a short while. — 4 years ago
This inexpensive red is a go-to for me now. Robust, full flavor, deep Garnet color, lovely to enjoy with a steak or just enjoy a glass with some strong cheeses. — 5 years ago
Pours rich dark blackberry, slightly acidic initially. An hour later it’s smooth with slight peppery finish, notes of tart fruit and mild spice. Paired with a charcuterie plate watching the sunset over the islands. — 2 years ago
A spur of the moment buy at Whole Foods, I’m relatively pleased with this one. Deep blackberry color you expect from a Malbec. Flavors a bit on the spicy side but nothing really complex. Has a nice, smooth finish. A decent value at $15 for a full liter vs the usual 750ml. Surprised by the clear glass bottle but otherwise a decent casual night at home, drinkable Malbec. — 5 years ago
This is by far the best “cheap” red I’ve found. The price almost scared me away. I mean, a $9 bottle? Couldn’t possible be good. It was recommended at one of my favorite bottle shops so I tried it. It’s a go-to for me now when I don’t want to overthink it. Jammy, full of ripe fruit/berry notes, smooth, always enjoyable. — 6 years ago
Dark, smooth, complex ripe berries; slightly sweet but finishes with the slightest hint of peppery-spice notes. Incredible value for the complexity of flavors. — 2 years ago
Easy drinking, ripe berries, a bit sweeter than expected but not off putting. For the price, it’s a winner. — 4 years ago
2017 vintage: nice medium body, slightly acidic but not overbearing, ripe berries, mild spice. — 5 years ago
Pours dark and inky; lovely minerals and ripe fruit, plum, dark cherry. Lingering flavors of earth and forest. — 6 years ago

Not like a Pinot noir at all. Very fruity slightly sweeter than I prefer. Offsetting it with some funky blue cheese. Probably would be ok with spicy bbq. Not my favorite. — a year ago
