Very good Sancerre but sadly a hint of oxidation, which took away the freshness. — 8 years ago
Start of Christmas Celebrations. Excellent value champagne from the Wine Society. Extra creaminess from oak fermentation (fairly unusual, although Krug uses this method). Brioche, baked apple, lemon zest. — 8 years ago
This was excellent. Fresher than Le Paridis, classsic Sancerre minerality, citrus, grass, elderflower, balanced by the acidity, but very round. Excellent and drinking beautifully. — 8 years ago
Great Village Meursault. Lots of depth with plenty of fruit left but also nice tertiary development, good balancing acidity. Great length. — 8 years ago
Classic mature Bordeaux, still some primary fruit, but lots of tertiary development - cigar box, cedar, leather, dried fruits. Tannins fine but slightly drying finish. — 8 years ago
Excellent Burgundian, rich ripe, lots of stone fruit, vanilla and toasty oak well integrated, nice balancing acidity, some tertiary notes. Drinking beautifully. — 8 years ago

Classic mature village Gevrey-Chambertin. Red fruits - cherry, strawberry, plum, smoke and cloves from oak, violets, liquorice, tertiary earth, mushroom. Nice balancing acidity. Good depth but perhaps a little short on the finish. Went very well with Xmas day dinner. — 8 years ago
