Nose gives hints of cool clay and stem, elegant mouthfeel and a tremendous balance of light pepper, dark fruits and silky merlot. Always a Virginia Gold Standard. — 10 years ago
2009 vintage. Between garnet and ruby in color, merlot on the nose, but finishes softly peppery and stewed cherry - sangiovese tempered by merlot. Good bargain Super Tuscan. — 10 years ago

Stellenbosch merlot with subdued, but present fruit and good minerality. Finishes with a hint of the eucalyptus that is grown all over the Cape. Not your mom's merlot. Good value. — 9 years ago
Great dark color and heavily toasted malt. While potent, actually mutes the hops floral notes. Finishes toasty and vanilla. — 10 years ago
