This is an old school style, balanced, not overblown Zin that is (1) very enjoyable; (2) very food friendly; and (3) very rare these days. Nose is classic Dry Creek: spicy black raspberry fruit, crushed rock, a little sweet baking spice. Vibrant and focused fruit on the palate, with a medium-bodied presence and silky mouthfeel. No jamminess. Finishes long. Only 13.8%, though the acids don’t seem as prominent as I would have expected that that relatively low percentage.
