Dark ruby. Inviting nose and medium full palate of tart cherry, black cranberry, and tarry marzipan (tarzipan?). Medium plus acidity supports it. Medium tannins envelope it. Finish is moderately long and continues the palate. This apassimento (not ripasso) red is an excellent accompaniment to classic tomato-based Italian fare, but will also complement a wide range of "red wine" foods from pork loin to New York strip. Drink now through 2027.

Muted nose. Balanced blend. Not fruity. Good finish. Good for the price.

Very nice, slightly dry but smooth. Great with meatloaf.
