This was the last vintage for the founder of Yarra Yering, Dr Bailey Carrodus before he passed. Classic Cabernet aromas - a slight greenish asparagus note which diminished with time. Medium weight palate with fine Tannins. YY is traditionally one of the best producers in the Yarra Valley and this is the 2nd ranked Cabernet cuvée. Herbaceous With time the nose and palate has developed a plummy sweetness.

Mar 23rd, 2015Very strong oak and liquorice nose which dominates others. 11 years in cellar made it taste very smooth tannin and well balanced. Just not strong enough for me personally.

Nov 14th, 2018Very smooth and easy to drink for a "heavy red". I think I had a 2005 vintage, but not 100% sure (drank it in 2015, so could have been up to a 2010!)

Nov 10th, 2015At 7 years young I gave this a good decant before pouring myself a glass. Pretty savoury for an Aussie wine but still enough blackcurrant and plum fruit showing to keep things interesting. In fact, I really enjoyed this. Understated but delicious.
