Yabby Lake Vineyard
Single Vineyard Morning Peninsula Chardonnay
Mid Lemon in colour. Funky leesy notes with mineral and a touch of butterscotch. Previous sulphidic notes have diminished somewhat. A lot of winemaking on show here - this wine has been “worked “, but all to the good. The palate shows Lemon butter with under ripe stone fruit. Some creaminess from the oak and the winemaking. Medium plus intensity. Holding up easily - impressive at 10 years of age. Burgundian traits. Another very good wine from Tom Carson who is also in demand at Wine Shows for his excellent palate.

Mar 9th, 2020A modern style of Australian Chardonnay - restrained and worked at the same time. Funky Grapefruit and stone fruit aromas. Barely medium weight - quite delicate. A little spike of French Oak but altogether quite harmonious. A joy to drink - still with a short term future.

Jun 1st, 2019Pale to Mid Lemon. Leesy Funky with a little struck match. Walking the balance between the leaner Grapefruit and fuller stone fruit style. M+ intensity- Good length and depth of flavour. The complete package for a Chardonnay from the Mornington Peninsula. Outstanding QPR for $40. I would happily pay $80 plus for a Chardonnay of this quality.
