Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

By far the best wine I've ever had from Washington. Great bottle

Rick is always rockin it out in Washington.

Debated oxidation but non the less tired.

1987--drinking well; touch porty when opened; decanted and after one hour really hit its stride.

Still has many years in it!

Supple and mature, just the way I like 'em

Copper, plums, true to terroir. For reals yo.

Dark. Sexy. Fruit isn’t as forward but still rich and velvety with black currant and cassis. Not heavy on the palate, soft and pretty. Drink now or soon.

Not sure how this website actually works, started writing the review for the Cabernet and ended up posting my praise for the Merlot which I’m sure is probably decent as well but refer to the notes under the Merlot for my assessment of the 1988 Cabernet

This library selection from Abel’s in San Francisco was educational and delicious - it’s not often that I get to taste a 29 year old WA Cab! This wine is well past peak but the structure is still intact and the color is only slightly faded. A revelation!
