Quite a dark ruby color with garnet undertones. The nose absolutely assaults you with bright fruit and a really good mix of earth and spice. Don't worry about the 15%, this escapes the plight of other high-alcohol California Zins. Nothing too fat or flabby to be seen here. Brambly red and black fruit, nice minerality, and the wet soil on the palate. Nice, long finish with spices. Very yummy Zin.
