Love WM Harrison Bordeaux varietals...fantastic across the board. I was excited to try this courtesy of @Mark Flesher and was initially optimistic at the nose. Very pretty and floral. Black cherry, potpourri, rose petal. Front palate has a good amount of red fruit and just as it’s about to get to the mid palate...it completely dies. When I say dies I mean the wine ceases to have any flavor the rest of the ride. Wow. Never experienced that with a young wine. Wanting to give the benefit of the doubt to this producer, we came back later and “think” it might have been trying to add some weight, but not sure. It was re-corked to be tried later today so hopefully Mark has good news on it a day later! No rating for now, unless Mark tells me the wine remains unchanged.

One of my top 10 Napa producers. Family owned Winery in far north Rutherford AVA. Wines are beautifully designed and favor complexity over overextraction. But I must say that I struggle with this Pinot a little bit. Poured a medium density, almost like Beaujolais. The nose is tart red cherry...very red youthful fruity nose. The entry is medium+ density. Red cherry and herbs. Acidity is rather high even at an hour. Middle is a little darker. Raspberry and herb, lavender, rose petal on the finish. Finish still rather acidic. I think this one needs a little more time!
