Nov 4th, 2015Embodying why/how 2010 is an interesting vintage. Ripeness, really high acidity, texture that hits the sweet spot between delicacy/finesse and the phenolic nature of Riesling, developing characteristics, and both ripe orchard and tart critic fruit. Really nice qba.

A quite pretty pale straw in the glass. Fun nose of mostly tropical fruits initially. All the green apples you could ever want and white flowers shine, as well. Entry level wines can be fine, just fine. We all know the type of quality Wittmann can produce in their more esteemed bottles but this one is rocking too. The citrus and high acidity make for a lovely little package. Nice weight and balance with this Riesling and it’s just downright delicious. Medium to full bodied and varietally correct, it’s very pleasing on the tongue. Stone minerality, lemon and lime zest, apricots, and peach shine on the palate. One of the better bottles at the supermarket.
