Quite fabulous! Earthy and also friendly. Not overly complex but has a depth to it. Could be both serious and chuggable. Cherries, cola, herbs and dirt. Refreshing red!

A great effort in this vintage, this Spätburgunder shows beautiful aromas of stewed cherry, cranberries and orange, that combine with lighter earthy tones. The palate displays a lovely combination of weight and mouth-watering acidity. Black tea, pomegranate seed and cola flavors all nicely combine as this excellent wine continues to demonstrate excellent range through the finish. This is seriously good Spätburgunder given its modest price. Drink 2019-2029- 91

Really great wine from the beginning. Earth, spices, dark red berries, textural with a core of ripe red fruit. Definitely want another glass or 7!

Extremely closed, but showing an amazing balance, just the right amount of oak, think it needs about 3hrs decant or another 5 years.

Interesting pinot, with tart cherries, underbrush, loam and cola spice. Fresh and fun on the palate, though the tannins are a little green and the whole package is a bit gassy. A slight chill made it pop.

Fruit forward nose with black and red fruits, light body but a lot going on with fruit, earth, and even some minerally tannins. Interesting for a pinot noir.

So pretty. From the super, "almost can't get ripe" cool climate rolling hills of the Rheinhessen. Goes perfectly with the vanilla ice on the radio. Police on the scene. You know what I mean.

As Burgundy gets ever more expensive, it's time to think outside the box. Coming from the 'New' Burgundy.
