Winnica Saint Vincent
Riesling

Nose like typical riesling. Maybe too high sugar but worth to try.

Winnica Saint Vincent, riesling 2021
Comparative tasting tonight : a 2021 dry polish riesling against a 2021 dry german one.
The nose is peculiar here, with mostly white flowers and lime zest. I could not identify the varietal blind. The palate was a bit flabby at first but with the wine warming up a notch it gained verticality and its acid drive powers up. There is a touch of rs, some lime juice, lime custard notes, some grip and a medium short finish with this limey notes to finish with. It's an entry level polish wine, which in itself says a lot, but it's a perfect warm spring day picnic wine.

Pineapple, citrus (yuzu), a tiny mineral note like chalk. Ok... This is not what I would have associated with that varietal. The palate is well done with a huge acid backbone that carries everything in its wake, some citrusy note here and there and a bit of white pepper, a good width with almost an RS feeling, and a very long finish with that citrusy note which turns slightly bitter as if it were zesty. Not what I expected, not impressive but went well with smoked salmon.

White peach, elderflower, spices like white pepper or even cinammon (?!) on the nose. The palate is fresh with white peach again and a strong acid backbone with a touch of residual but not enough to make it semi dry. Nice texture and short finish. Satisfying, rather pretty good white polish wine.
