Old Vine Lodi Zinfandel
Velvety smooth, low tannins, medium bodied, spices and earthy aromas, tobacco and leather. Characteristics of a much older wine. Not the typical Zinfandel but I love it!

Fruity nose of plums, cherries, blackberries, strawberry puree, vanilla, oak, licorice, spices, cotton candy, peppercorn, chocolates, smoke and beef jerky.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity and nice long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, plums, cherries, currants, oak, vanilla, raspberries, eucalyptus, bitter spices, peppercorn, coffee and dark chocolates.
Long finish with soft tannins and tart cherries.
A nice California Zinfandel. Not too complex, but not offensive, and drinks well at this young age.
Well balanced and enjoyable by itself, with a gentle mouth feel.
A Great red sipping wine and also good for parties.
Not one that will benefit from long aging, but one additional year in the bottle would make it even better.
The bottle itself is impressive. Thick and heavy. Might be a good present wine...
14.7% alcohol by volume.

Rich really liked. Peppery, little tangy but smooth. Air it. That really makes it nice

Jan 15th, 2023This is a great version of a California Zin. Nice notes of spice and pairs so well with a red meat meal. Found this on sale and will go get more while I can. Love the label and the cork. I am under a thunderstorm warning and this is so nice to watch the clouds rolling. Get some.

Jun 12th, 2022Heavy bottle. Silly graphic though. Dark and plummy-cherry colored. Smells pretty classic with more of the decomposition smells of the wetlands and the zip of mineral oils in the mix. Flavors are nice OVZ. Plum compote, jam jar, smoke and black licorice. This is a case where heavy bottle meets quality. Great Gross Out winner.
Ha! Looks like I drank this before and gave it a too much vanilla and jam beat-down. Shows how your preference and impression isn’t static. I liked it a lot more the second time around…
