Rule #34 — It’s always a win when you surprise a friend with their favorite Pinot.

Williams Selyem Precious Mountain 2018. 13.8% ABV.

I fell hard for this producer early in my wine journey. The bottle from last night reminded me why. I am trying to be more diversified as I explore new wines, but it’s fun revisiting gems like this one.

This wine paired well with braised short ribs, chocolate soufflé, and laughter.

I failed to get a photo of the bottle. 2018 opened by a generous friend. Sunday wine “meeting”. Full bodied. Deep intense fruit. Complex. Took about an hour to really open up. Wonderful.
