Give this wine proper time to open up and you'll be happy. White pepper, chocolate, currants with a touch of alc on the nose. Very dry and tight at first but opens up beautifully. Great grain of tannin, full bodied without being viscous. Probably score higher in two hours.

The 2010. This is my third time drinking this (my last bottle) and it was way different than the last two times. It might have been our food/wine progression, but it was much more peppery this time around. The fruit was much more subdued and less juicy and the gamey-ness was just starting to come into play. This was the wine that got me crushin' on Atlas Peak.

My favorite Syrah in this price range. Medium body, soft fruit tones and a really nice spiced finish.

This wine sucks all the moisture out of my mouth, like a stillsuit on Arakis. Very grape-y all up in my nose at first. Smells like bacon upon opening up half an hour later. Peppery and sharp on the tongue.
