Dark blackish purple with a near opaque core in the glass. Nose of blackberry and tar, echoed on the medium full-bodied palate. Medium plus tannins assert themselves after some air. Medium plus acidity with a medium length, dark finish. A good choice for your Thanksgiving red.

Not many winemakers with the courage to bottle this as a single varietal. Sadly, this one has retired.

Not as dark as I've had in the past where zero light came through and it stained the glass. Nice Alicante Bouschet

I bought one bottle of the 2013 for $30 at the tasting room and split it with my wife that night. Couldn't finish the bottle. Tried to chug it while holding my nose but I couldn't stomach it. My wife just dumped hers in the flower beds. I'm confused, though, because what I tasted in the tasting room was good. In the tasting room it was thin and dry. The bottle I brought home was syrupy. I think most people like this what I call syrupy, they call it chewy. My adjective "thin" means not syrupy.

What a chameleon. This wine got bigger and chewier as the night progressed. Aerated directly into a decanter where it paired well with dinner of ziti bolognese and herbed goat cheese.

One of our favorite wineries. This wine is almost black in color which is why it's called Noir De Noir.
