Pilgrim Pinot Noir

One of the best Swiss Pinots we sell and it is a smoke show in 2020. Wow. Ethereal perfume of sappy cherries, black cherries, late season cherries, light smokey oak, camphor, burnt fireplace embers, decaying leaves, vanilla extract and spice. So complex and deep. 9.7 nose. Insane. Wow! Wow! So complex, elegant and juicy. Sweet fruit with tons of energy but my goodness what finesse and sleek fruit. This is amazing. The finish has a lipstick like intensity. Stunning on the PNP and I am sure will improve with air. What a finish. Goes on and on. This has such a weightlessness to it plus top notch fruit clarity. Unreal delicacy. Just a stunning showing.

What a nose on day 2. Unreal harmony, purity and clarity. The essence of cherries. Blown away. So expansive. Palate is silken, sweet finessed pinot fruit with a long sappy finish. Remarkable.

Been a while and wow has this changed. Unreal nose of woodsmoke, cherry flower, mid to early season cherries. Some bittersweet cocoa and also wonderful earthiness. Just beautiful. Awesome florality. Palate is so silky and seductive. Sweet sweet fruit and so juicy. Man this just glides on your palate. Salty and mineral finish and such energy. Wow the length here is crazy. Stunning. Wow this is ethereal. This was always great but now it is profound. Concentrated and so refined. Amazing finish and such ripe and elegant tannins. Masterful.

Just an incredible wine. While obviously young it is truly elegant and beautiful stuff. It’s got a purity to the Pinot fruit that is just amazing. The nose is a little woody right now but none of it translates to the palate which tells me it will integrate quickly. There’s serious minerality as well. So floral. Spice and incense. So aromatic. The palate is a masterpiece. A Pinot lover’s dream. So luscious. So much pure mid season cherry fruit. Hint of sweetness. So tangy, so ludicrously luscious. Amazingly ripe and just perfect tannins. Wow. Sweeter with air and just terrifically restrained concentration. Notable length. This is buttah! Love this estate. I’ll be back once it airs. 9.6 for now. Nose is getting more integrated and the wood has receded into the background. Superb spice. Incense store. Under that a deep penetrating minerality.

The tete de cuvee and wow. Revelatory wine. First 5 minutes it needs to unwind the blammo you’re blown away. This is top tier Pinot. Sickness. Nose is so floral and sweet. Mind bending mid to late season confectionary cherries. Just insane. Hint of super well integrated sweet wood. Multi dimensional nose. Oh the florals are insane. Reminiscent of elite Ziereisen. Palate is just perfection almost. So fresh, so complex, and elegant density, and I mean elegant. Just one of the most complete young Pinot Noir’s I’ve had in years. Holy shit. Genius. The fruit is so perfectly defined and presented with just masterful clarity. Haunting. Stunning. A find and a find. Just incredible.
