Caramel popcorn, honeycomb, old forgotten leather, moist oak sawdust; Honey drizzle on dehydrated lemon zest, dehydrated Granny Smith apple slices, buttery apple pie. Oily & viscous mouthfeel, cane sugar but drying. Fantastic experience, 30Y young, drink 2023-2038.

Yowza. Texture is off the rails. Lemon flesh and green apples and insanely crystalline purity. Long and complex. Lime candy.

Nov 6th, 2022Yowza this is a stunner as usual. Nose is candied apple, confectionary up the wazoo, superb minerals and spice. Such classic Mosel slate minerality. High toned and so complex. Just in a perfect spot. The platonic ideal of aged Mosel Auslese. Honey. Palate is just tremendous. Savory, citrus and honey but all with confectionary undertones to it. Really elegant. Really compact and a haunting, effortlessly long finish.

Jan 16th, 2022Post work tasting with a good friend, no notes.
This is the NV 2010/2011 blend, it's crazy!
I'll do notes on future bottles.

In a wonderful place. Slatey, savory nose. Some bruised green apple skin, so much dusty earth. Floral, herbal. Just stunning and evocative nose. Palate is so elegant. Hyper elegant. Juicy and mineral with much lower sweetness than I was expecting. So so juicy and tangy. Long. Like wow long. Salty, savory. Like a Perfect dessert at Michelin 3 star in liquid form. Ludes is absurd.

Sep 12th, 2020I use NV because this is a 2010/2011 blend. The nose is bonkers. Herbs, sweet Mosel slate. Oh the good slate on this nose. Oh what herbs. This smells not like your normal tarted up Auslese. This smells serious and aged and also young. 🙃some mint, some menthol. Gorgeous. It’s deep, floral, a hint of honey and so so pure, detailed and vivid. Wow. Insane honeyed depth as it opens. Palate is so refined but then a lemon nuclear blast of acid and then so many rocks and lime. Wow! This is incredible. So precise. But that blast of acid then straight into the acid lemon lime electricity on LSD is some Ken Kesey shit. Wow. This wine is crazy. The finish is remarkable. This is a force of nature in vinous form.
