Just concluded our annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.
Nose has wet slate, petrol (light), cold honeycomb, baked green apple, dried apricot and grapefruit pith.
Palate has honey drizzled on over-ripe peach, ripe pineapple and vinyl-like notes on the mid-palate, sweet tangerine and under-ripe nectarine on the medium-long finish, quite pleasurable.
Part of our inexpensive case buy, long term aging, Riesling experiment project, this bottle is doing just fine, 10 more years no problem. I'm not the least bit concerned for future bottles. Proof that great Riesling can be found in the sundial vineyards, with great consistency at every price point.
