Simply perfect Spätlese! Not to sweet on the finish accompanies a marriage of German Rheinhassen goodness!

What an interesting wine, a varietal I've never had before, reminiscent of overripe Chenin from Loire, but the acidity is quite persistent. There is definitely a high RS though.

This Huxelrebe is stunning! Definitely on sweeter, Rieslingesque side of the spectrum Honey, tropical fruit, and peach nose. Similar sweet flavors of peach on the palate. Pairs outstandingly with spicy foods or those with a high degree of acidity and tang.

2016v. Accidentally bought my first huxelrebe instead of riesling (the labels are almost the same!). Mild nose of honey and subtle petrol notes. On the palette, it's mostly honey and super ripe and round yellow apples. Not a lot of acid, and a good dose of RS. Slightly waxy with a medium body. Overall, not as much complexity as a riesling and not nearly as much acid. The latter plus the sugar limits this wine to mild cheese pairings, dessert, and only the spiciest of main courses. 13% ABV.

Semi-sweet. Orange. Cantaloupe. Uniquely interesting. Not familiar with the varietal.

Orange rind and sweet melon nose with apricot, mandarin orange, honey, and spices in the mouth. A delightful semi-sweet wine from start to its long sweet finish.
