Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Californian Cabernet nose of vanilla, oak, licorice, vb plums, cherries, cloves, chocolates, eucalyptus, cola, spices, currants, smoke and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Tart and fruity on the palate with currants, plums, tart cherries, strawberries, cranberries, oak, vanilla, licorice and black pepper.
Medium finish with soft and smooth tannins and sour strawberries.
This is my first taste of the Blaufränkisch varietal. A Nice and Interesting red wine. It was great for the first 30 minutes, after that it became tart.
A Good food wine, Not a sipping wine. Probably on the way out, so drink now. I Paired it with lamb chops.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
