A really pretty shimmering crystalline yellow in the glass with effusive small bubbles. Citrus takes over immediately with aromas of ripe peaches and tangerine. Green apples are heavy in a glass with a larger bowl. Wildflowers and just a touch of yeast.
Pure Chardonnay from Grand Cru terroir in Avize, Oger, and Cramant. The tart edges have been rounded by the 7 g/l dosage. That little bit of subtle sweetness goes a long way but never overwhelms or obfuscates the natural elegance of the wine. Aged for three years and disgorged on 6/17, this is really just now starting to mature and show it’s beauty.
Soft and round in spots but consistently graceful. Plenty of hazelnut and toffee initially on the palate with more apples showing. Brioche and delicate fruits. This entire line of Waris-Hubert champagnes are just plain delicious.
