The mouthfeel opens up by mid palate, turning comfortably velvety and revealing cassis, figs, stale coffee and thick perfumed hookah smoke. The finish has a piney quality (like licking untreated wood), and a touch of mint that counters a yummy and persistent black cherry background. The two dimensionality of the tannins is what keeps this from really shining. Great value, good cab.
