Certified Sommelier, President of Savvy Cellar Wines Inc.
9.2
Pronounced dark fruit- somewhat like a dark berry compote, but not too “jammy”. Subtle vanilla from restrained oak, violets, both red and black licorice, with firm but approachable tannins. Everything about the wine says “Napa”, but in a nicely balanced way. It should cellar nicely for a few years and it was quite good with steak and sautéed kale.
