Excellent quality / price. 8 years later it seems to be at its peak, round and mellow, rich at the start and plenty of length

Before decanting. Somewhat thin nose and start, but delayed power of cassis and black cherries. A bit too much alcohol on the finish. After decanting for 30 mins or so, the black cherries had moved forward and overall the wine was powerful, like a souped-up Burgundy

A bit torn in terms of how I feel about this mosel Pinot. I don’t have a ton to compare it to, but this felt weightier and punchier than I expected - not necessarily in a bad way, but notably so. The texture is lovely and there is some nice tiny crystalline berry energy on the palate. Finishes somewhat woodsy and earthy and the acid is less than I would have expected. Interesting one.

After opening up in a decanter, this drinks like a slightly more punchy Burgundy - and all the better for it, I like the tannin, excellent balance and heavy fruits
