Never even heard of this wine. The winemaker is Mac McDonald, who grew up in East TX. Known for being that typical East TX country boy wherever he goes by wearing a straw hat and overalls. His Dad was a moonshiner. I've not met him, but after having this delicious blend, the people who shared it (and are club members) raved about him.
Evidently this wine is not made every year. Vision Cellars focuses on pinot, but in good years, they put this out. This is the epitome of jammy...I don't mean just lots of fruit, I mean this smells like jam or preserves straight from the jar. There has got to be some Zinfandel in this. Though jammy, it wasn't too sweet...the tannins balanced it out. Blueberry preserves, blackberry pie, vanilla bean ice cream, figs. A very delicious wine with what seems to be a very unique label and winemaker.
