Vincent Girardin
Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir

It’s a beautiful vino. Slightly earthy with that blueberry and licorice. 20 years in bottle and my 2 of 4, it’s a delicious light/medium to drink tonight. Home with the kiddos. Happy. Delicious.

First of four, didn’t decant it but it drinks perfectly straight away. It’s delicious. Matured but delicate fruit. Nothing overwhelming, mediums bodied and perfect complexity. Pure happiness on this Friday.

Began as a deep rich wine with dark berry/boysenberry. Showing very well. But as some 05's are known to do, this one slowly retreated. Never fully closing, but reticent and tannic. Certainly special, but probably 10 years too early.

Oct 12th, 20152005 Vincent Girardin Chambertin Grand Cru. Wine was killer, but still way too young. Great structure and depth, but never really opened up. Great potential though and my friend has two more.
