Tasted 11/09/2015
Pretty classic (light, fresh and drinkable) Malvazija Istarska, indigenous and most planted grape of Istria, Croatia. Brought directly from there last summer :)
Transparent pale straw colour.
Nose shows citrusy (lemon) and flowery (acacia, linden blossom, dandelion) aromas, plus honey and pineapple nuances.
Light-plus bodied, well balanced. Flavors of carambola, gooseberry, pineapple, some butter. Vivid acidity.
Medium length finish of lemon peels with mustard bitterness.
Well paired with river trout.
