Falernia Reserva Valle de Elqui Carménère

Vineyard near the in-laws, have had the wines and enjoyed, plus #carmenere so I grabbed it...Turns out you can get serious amarone style from #chile for under $15. After one explosive sip, I had to read the back label.
would not have pegged as Carmenere, but the magnified rich plum and spice makes sense once you understand the intended style. Gets the A for effort and extra points for execution.
May need to get more and lay it on down for observation.

Lots of VA when opened. Needed to decant for a bit. Opened into a very herbaceous slightly black fruit bouquet. Overall delicious
