Big and bold Zin. Jam, toasty marshmallow, cooked fruits in pastries. Pies, cobblers and crisps from cherries and berries. Cola and mocha (or just lighter dark chocolate or maybe just creamed & sweetened coffee). Anyway it’s another big and in your face wine by Villa Stellarin/Fitch Mountain Vineyards. I like the bombast, but it’s just a bit too extra to nail the subtle pleasure of Dry Creek V Zin. (Does do its job as a 14.5% ‘face melter’ though).
