Very nice fruity ripe aromatics upon opening, but needs time to open up. Very bitter without any time to breathe. Rich, heavy red with lots of fruit and alcohol. Not really my style, but I can see the appeal. I would enjoy this more if the alcohol presence wasn’t so prominent. Some of the heavy alcohol blew off by day two. It pairs nicely with a nutty, rich cheese, like Jarlsberg. This wine needs to be paired with rich food; not a sipping wine.
