Finally - a red Rhone I can get behind! This has a fascinating aromatic nose. I'm gonna go ahead and say lychee, along with the dirty strawberry leather you'd expect. Coupled with the bright clear ruby red color, it's a candy-like package on the front end. On the palate it's balanced: pleasant acid, clear tannins, solid body, a touch juicy, and a nice weight of leathery smoothness that accompanies and lingers. Nothing's really out of whack, and that earthy candy fruit bouquet blossoms back on the finish. I couldn't ask for much more!
