From the Aglianico grape using ZERO SO2 (Sulphur Dioxide) and making a big statement about that on the back label. Unfamiliar aromas of decayed matter, compost and hazelnut. On the palate savoury characters overwhelm what little fruit there is (sour dry sappy cherry flavours). Finishing with powdery persistent Tannins. A bit rustic, tannic, and “Old School “. Maybe how village Italian wine tasted 100 years ago in Basilicata?

Youthful Crimson with purple tinges. Nose of dried savoury cherries - oak is there. Sweet and savoury palate , medium to full bodied with fine powdery tannins. Good match with Linguini Mushrooms and Chilli. With time astringency replaced the fruit. Nothing to write home about.
