Mar 14th, 2024Valdigue aka Napa Gamay. Estate grown in Martinez, CA. Lovely fire engine red. Not much brick in there yet. Strange perfumed aroma. Smells like good decomposition and roses. Just a bit of berry jams. Flavors are strange. Hints of tart berries. Or maybe rosehipz. A kinda hibiscus thing. Like Zinger teas. Maybe some Capsicum flavors too. Aka red pepper. This is a strange and lovely wine. Throwback/euro style thing. Aroma and color are stunning. Flavors are good if a bit sharp.
